At the origin of a film, there is the vision of an author. A spark of desire which, transformed by teamwork, lights up a screen. It is this genesis, at the very source of cinema, that interests us here. Long before the first day of shooting, a director must submit his dream to essential imperatives : choosing performers, defining a light, thinking up a form for bodies in movement. In order to shed light on what goes on behind the scenes, we decided to make a documentary and meet actors, producers, directors and even a choreographer. To link all these talents, we needed a woman who was as comfortable in auteur cinema as in popular comedy : Sandrine Kiberlain.
