A series without taboos on menstruation in 10 episodes of 6 minutes. In France, in the 16th and 17th centuries, people used to say : "avoir ses catimini". An expression derived from the Greek Katamênia which means "menstruation". Menstrual blood, women's blood : a taboo that has been talked about since the dawn of time until today. While menstrual blood is infiltrating the media en masse : Toxic shock syndrome, articles on period-related de-schooling, the issue of the tampon tax, revelations by sportswomen about their performance being altered by fluctuations in their cycle... On the web, more and more women are also freely exchanging information via sites or forums. Women are coming out of their silence and shame. The cup is fashionable, yes, but the cup is full ! Where are we today with the taboo of menstruation ? Why is it sometimes still so strong ? Trendy bloggers, militant feminists, professors, gynaecologists, artists: there are many women fighting for the right to dignity, to be proud of being a woman who bleeds. Because all over the world, women are still mocked, hidden, isolated and discriminated against because of their periods.
